When I started the CFO for Rent ® business 25 years ago, the concept of part-time financial management was unheard of. Today there are imitators all across the country. Amazingly, most of them have never actually been a CFO in a company, with full responsibility for resolving internal, non-accounting issues in finance, strategy and planning. When you decide you need an instant upgrade in your financial management, be sure to check the background of your candidates. Someone who has not been a real CFO, who doesn't have the time in the trenches, can't really be bring the experience – and more importantly the results – that you are paying for. Don’t let them “practice” on you.
