DocSend-style sharing
Use tracked sharing when
You want control: revoke, watermark, see whether a partner spent time on the financials slide. Fine. Set permissions. Expire links. Version the deck so you are not tracking last month’s numbers.
DocSend vs Alternatives
Reviewed August 21, 2026 by Robb
DocSend made ‘who opened the deck’ a habit. Plenty of alternatives now do the same: links, watermarks, a view log. Use one if you want to know whether the file moved. Do not run the company on those graphs. An open is not diligence. A forward is not a lead. We care that the file they opened matches the books you would send next.

You want control: revoke, watermark, see whether a partner spent time on the financials slide. Fine. Set permissions. Expire links. Version the deck so you are not tracking last month’s numbers.
Simple alternatives
The process is small, you trust the person, and you would rather not manage another login. PDF plus a dated filename still works. Just do not email five versions with five ARR figures.
We do not put ‘deck opens’ in a cash forecast. If you need a status, ask: meeting booked, paper out, wired. The analytics product is a flashlight, not a scoreboard.
The disaster is two decks in the market. Whether you use DocSend or a drive folder, one current file, one owner, a date. Finance should sign off on the numbers page when it changes.
A tracked deck is not a data room. When diligence starts, graduate the materials. Do not dump the general ledger in a marketing link.
